simplified the process of choosing the correct codes; however, it is important that practicing
chiropractors understand these important changes in order to use the correct code and provide
appropriate documentation.
Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this webinar, the participant should be able to:
· Understand the difference between Established Patient E/M services and New Patient
E/M services
· Understand the circumstances in which it is appropriate to bill both an E/M code and a
Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy (CMT) code on the same visit
· Choose the correct E/M code using the new standards based on either time spent or the
complexity of medical decision making
· Support the choice of code with appropriate documentation
