This course will lay out the basics principles of evidence informed practice. Outlining different types of evidence and the inherent limitations of each. A focus on patient presentation using the bio-psycho-social model as well as developing a well-informed patient. A focus on clinical expertise using individual experience as well as the experience of the profession. A focus on research and the difference between clinical question vs. a research question, generalizability, and bias.
Participants will be able to identify different types of clinically relevant evidence
Participants will understand the principles behind the Bio-Psycho-Social model of patient presentation
Participant will be introduced to developing a well-informed patient
Participants will be introduced to the strengths and weaknesses of clinical experience
Participants will have a better understanding of how literature based research applies to clinical practice
