DESCRIPTION
Central sensitization has been linked to numerous physical conditions including asthma, irritable bowel syndrome and chronic pain syndromes such as fibromyalgia. Peer-reviewed research is presented that supports the causes of central sensitization and the etiology of fibromyalgia. Current medical treatment of fibromyalgia is discussed and peer-reviewed evidence is presented that supports understanding the etiology of fibromyalgia may lead to more effective treatment.
