Laboratory tests are an essential part of the evaluation and management of musculoskeletal pain and inflammation.
The purpose of this presentation is to familiarize the chiropractor with appropriate lab tests utilized for these conditions.
The following topics will be included for discussion: vitamin D deficiency and its role in back pain; the association between metabolic syndrome and chronic low-back pain; and, appropriate lab tests to rule out spinal inflammatory arthritides.
Note: All blood tests discussed are “approved clinical laboratory tests” for New York State chiropractors to order as per the New York State Education Department – Office of the Professions.
